Notes / Directions 

  • Black olives are a great source of iron and vitamin E.
  • They are very high in sodium, which is beneficial when you're sweating all day.
  • Olives are also high in fiber, but we need not state the importance of fiber on the trail.
  • When done drying, they should be pliable and tough.
  • The donut shape doesn't lend well to packing efficiently. If necessary, consider a quick blitz in a food processor to get it into smaller pieces.
